WFSGI is pleased to announce that, for the 2018 edition of the Asian Games, competing athletes will benefit from a professional equipment support service from their partner brands. After working with the IOC and the Olympic Games for many years to provide similar athlete support, WFSGI has established a new relationship with the Olympic Council of Asia. As a result of the collaboration, WFSGI Members have been able to secure Technical Accreditations to provide essential equipment and services to their athletes competing at the upcoming Asian Games
The Asian Games are the biggest multi-sport games after the Olympic Games and the most prestigious event organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, with the 18th edition to be held in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia in 2018.
Robbert de Kock, CEO and President WFSGI
“We are very pleased to have been able to support our Members and their athletes by providing a Technical Accreditation Process at the 2018 Asian Games”
“We wish to express our special thanks to the Olympic Council of Asia and, in particular, to Sheik Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and Director General, Mr Husain Al Musallam, whose introduction and support for the work of our Members has been invaluable. We hope that this will be the first of many occasions on which our organisations are able to work together for the good of sport. We are also grateful to the members of Indonesian Asian Games Organising Committee for providing on-the-ground support and assistance to the WFSGI Members”.
“With our Asian presence, through our daughter organisation WFSGI Asia, the collaboration with OCA is a perfect match and we will continue talks to provide more assistance and support services for the next editions of the Asian Games“ said Robbert de Kock.
