The most stunning bar in the Maldives is being transformed into a restaurant showcasing the finest meat and seafood in the world.
The Whale Bar and Grill will serve mouth-wateringly succulent cuts from the finest cattle ranches on earth alongside seafood fished from the ocean just hours before – all graced by a selection of signature side dishes and sauces.
Located on the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, which has won a series of global awards in 2018, the chefs have been working for months on the menu and the range of fine drinks and cocktails to accompany meals.
Ayyoub Salameh, Director of Culinary & Service, said: “The Whale Bar has gained a reputation as one of the most breath-taking spots on the planet, where one can enjoy a cold drink with family and friends, therefore we wanted to bring an equally wonderful dining experience to the venue.
“We are extremely proud of the Whale Bar and Grill and the quality of meat and fresh fish that we will be serving on a nightly basis to guests. This is simply about first-class ingredients being given the respect that they deserve.
“It was a project lasting through 2018 to locate and secure produce such as the best steaks in the world and the freshest fish.”
The Whale Bar’s is renowned for its distinctive shape, which recalls the majestic whale shark. This whimsical but elegant retreat is elevated by light oak interiors, a refined bar, and a softly lit neutral palette.
A pyrographic masterpiece on wood by renowned artist Maya Burman, the installation depicts a father and son discovering a paradise of corals, fish, and plankton—a celebration of the Maldives’ vibrant sea life. The distinctive lounge opens directly onto an open-air terrace, where plush sofas and armchairs invite guests to admire seductive views of the sea and Vommuli Island’s immaculate reef.Email This Post
