Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has once again bagged a prestigious recognition at fDi’s Global Free Zones of the Year Awards 2018, winning the ‘Bespoke Award – Reduction in Red Tape’. Representatives from fDi Intelligence magazine visited RAKEZ headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah to personally present the award to RAKEZ Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
Throughout 2018, RAKEZ has been making it easier to set up and run a business – something that Group CEO of RAKEZ, Ramy Jallad, called “a mission to clear up business barriers”. “We are all absolutely thrilled to be recognised again with an fDi award, mainly for slashing red tapes. Allowing our clients to just get on and focus on running their business has always been among our top commitments, and this award goes to show that our efforts are paying off. We are very grateful,” Mr Jallad said.
Over the course of the year, RAKEZ has launched ‘Portal 360’, an online platform that enables its clients to access wide-ranging services at the click of a button, as well as three service centres that allow business owners to accomplish their licensing, visa and leasing requirements in one go. “These one-stop shops serve as focal points to various government entities, from Immigration to Civil Defence, Department of Economic Development, and many others,” said Mr Jallad, adding that, “the goal is to make it a breeze for our clients to tick off their requirements.”
Commenting on fDi’s visit, Mr Jallad said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the fDi team to RAKEZ. We are very proud of what we have accomplished here, and we are happy that they got to see it for themselves. We have removed many of the hurdles our companies face, and we are determined to continue our journey towards levelling up the ‘ease of doing business’ in RAKEZ.”
The economic zone’s 2018 award follows last year’s success in winning the ‘Bespoke Award – Set-up Cost Reduction’ for its cost-effective set-up solutions and easy payment plans.Email This Post
