Keeping in view the increasing trend of specialization in policing, specialized units for investigation and elimination of crimes are being promoted across province so that the concerned specialized unit of crime may continue investigation and provide timely justice.
These views were expressed by Inspector General Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi while addressing to investigation officers and Homicide Incharges across Punjab in a meeting held at Central Police Office, Lahore, today. Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Ejaz Hussain Shah, Addl: IGP Investigation Punjab, Abu Bakar Khuda Bukhsh, Addl: IGP Training Punjab, Tariq Masood Yaseen, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Rao Sardar and CCPO Lahore, Bashir Ahmad Nasir were present during the meeting.
The Provincial police Officer has asked all homicide incharges individually about their performance and challenges faced by investigation officers working in homicide units. Moreover, it has also been decided that homicide units will be established at Police stations level so that investigation process could expedited besides, inclusion of the investigation of dacoity with murder incidents in homicide units.
The cases lying in pendency in concerned circles of investigation officers were examined in detail upon which IG was told that majority of cases have been resolved whereas few cases are under investigation and will be settled very shortly
The PPO also directed the Addl: IGP Investigation, Abu Bakar Khuda Bukhsh to ensure the provision of all kinds of logistics and human resources to strengthen the homicide units across Punjab.Email This Post
