Newly opened destination to mark the occasion with Emirati folklore, food and festivities for the whole family
Share your love for the UAE in true Emirati fashion at Dubai’s latest ecotourism destination, the Hatta Wadi Hub, set amidst the majestic grandeur of the Hajar mountains. Located just a short drive from the city, the retreat will mark the 47th UAE National Day on 1 and 2 December with a packed entertainment schedule, featuring traditional UAE performances, handicrafts and falconry displays, accompanied by a delectable spread of authentic Emirati food and fun for the whole family.
Activities include henna painting and Arabic calligraphy, as well as face painting, balloon bending, and arts and crafts for the little ones. To mark the UAE National Day on 2 December, the destination will host Al Ayala, Al Harbiyah and Al Yola performances. You can also enjoy a photo session with the UAE’s iconic falcon.
Unlimited fun for the kids
The Hatta Wadi Hub will transform into a kids’ paradise with activities ranging from face painting and balloon bending to arts and crafts, all themed to match the occasion.
A fine showcase of Emirati heritage
After a warm welcome with dates and a hot cup of gahwa – perfect for a day out in December – you will get to experience the centuries-old traditions of the people of the UAE, including mesmerising Al Ayala, Al Harbiya and Al Yola dances, the art of Saf (palm frond braiding) and Talli (thread weaving), and beautiful Emirati henna painting. You can also watch a flag parade featuring horsemen, and have your name scripted in Arabic calligraphy on recycled paper to take home as a souvenir from the day.
Live cooking stations
On 2 December, food lovers will be spoiled for choice with popular Emirati delicacies, including logemat, ragag and chebab, on offer throughout the day at the live cooking stations. You can also sample traditional hot beverages, including gahwa, the quintessential karak, Sulaimani and other local varieties of tea.
You will get to take home complimentary UAE National Day memorabilia, including flags, scarves and pins.
