The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) will inaugurate the 10th edition of the annual fair ‘My Environment, My National Responsibility’, coinciding with the Conservation Festival organized by the Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain.
Set to run from November 7 to 9 (Wednesday to Friday) at the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre in Al Ain, the three-day event is expected to attract 2,000 visitors, mostly families and schoolchildren.
Participating entities will include the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, Dubai Municipality, Fujairah Municipality, the Department of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs in Sharjah, the Public Services Department – Ras Al Khaimah, Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, and National Geographic.
Taif Al Amiri, Director of the Government Communication Department at MOCCAE, said: “For 10 consecutive years, the Ministry has organized the ‘My Environment, My National Responsibility’ fair to raise awareness of eco-friendly practices among the UAE’s young generation, who will carry on the mission of achieving environmental sustainability. Through educating youth on the importance of preserving our natural heritage, we are creating the right mindset in tomorrow’s leaders.”
She added: “In collaboration with our strategic partners, we will introduce attendees to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, with a special focus on Goal 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production, Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 14: Life below Water, and Goal 15: Life on Land. To achieve this objective, we designed multiple activities, such as workshops, discussions, and edutainment games. We will also screen several awareness videos on the subject.”
The fair will be open to the public from 9am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 3pm to 7pm on Friday.Email This Post
